I just think Halloween is great! Some Nico Pics

I took Nico to a local park yesterday after daycare to get some fall pics. I noticed the trees were starting to get bare so i wanted to try and capture some of the fall colors before they were gone. I didn;t ahve the best of luck since it was getting a bit late by the time we got there and the sun was getting a bit too low in the sky, but i did get a few cute snaps. I think we are going to try and go back on Friday, perhaps even convince my friend, Ashley, and her son, Rylan, to come. Anyways, here are a few. The will likely be more to follow.

Credit Card temptaion

At 21 years old I have yet to get a credit card. I just don't trust myself with them. Everytime I buy something at Old Navy, Gap/BabyGap, Target, and The Children's Place (which happens really really frequently lol) they ask if I want to open a charge card with them, and I always think about it for much longer than I should before finally chickening out and saying no. I just don't trust myself. Several of my friends are my age and already in debt due to credit cards. I have always been good at saving my money, I have always had enough money to pay cash for what I wanted, I have school loans that are paid on monthly so that my credit is being established and in good standing, and I never needed a credit card. Now that I have a two year old, and gas prices are sky rocketing, and I am in school full time (which means I am working less hours) I am feeling the crunch just a bit. The temptation to get a credit card is getting harder and harder to resist lol. I want to order Nico's winter coat, but I need to wait until payday. If I had a Gap card I could get it right now and just pay for it on payday. Then again, I really don't need it RIGHT NOW! And, better yet, if I went to Wal-Mart right now I could get a coat that I can actually afford right now, but I want the Gap one. Perhaps I don't need a credit card as much as I need some sense knocked into me re: my toddler clothing obsession (which rivals my naming obsession on the sick/sad/weird scale lol).

Forgive me, I was just thinking out loud (is it still "out loud" if it is actually typed lol).

Operation Ditch The Diapers!

So I have finally decided to get serious about potty training Nico. he has been in Pull=Ups for months now and he is treating them like diapers so last weekend I dove in head first and just started putting him in underwear. He is still having alot of accidents but atleast now, when he does have an accident, he knows right away that he peed or pooped and tells me so I can get him to a potty. Alot of times once he realizes he is wet he stops peeing until he gets to the potty so I figure that is a step in the right direction, though we still have a LONG way to go. He's been wearing underwear to school as well and they ahve been pretty supportive with it so thats a good thing, but he has been coming home in a pull-up because around 4 o'clock he gets sent to the toddler room (as kids atart to leave they combine the 2s and toddlers to let some staff go home too) where there isn't an in-class bathroom and its just easier than finding someone to take him to pee. I'm not sure I agree with that but I also don;t want to make it any harder on them than it already is, KWIM?

We also went on a little photography adventure last night but i haven;t gotten around to uploading the pics yet so you will jut have to wait for those =0)

And now on to some Nico Funnies. So I am thinking that my kid watches too much TV and/or eats too much fast food because this morning, when I told him we were stopping at Wendy's to get mommy a coffee and him a muffin he said, in the cutest, most dramatic voice, "Its way better than fast food. It's wendys!" I laughed so hard! I should really tape it and send it to the Wendy's corporation. Maybe they will want him to do a commercial! lol My baby could be famous!

And while we are on the subject of funny things my kid does, get ready to be a little grossed out. well, it is really only gross if you aren't in the process of Potty Training, since any p[arent going through this learns very quickly how not to get squeemish about bodily fluids lol. Anyways, yesterday Nico and i were in his room cleaning up before bed and he said he had to go potty. I told him to go ahead and I would meet him in there when I was finished putting away some books (I have his shelf organized according to size because I am anal so I prefer to put his books away myself lol). Like 30 second later i went in to find him standing ontop of the toilet, with the lid down, and no pants on, peeing on the lid! OMG!!! I asked what he was doing and he replied, very matter-of-factly. "I'm peeing on the potty!" I told him he is supposed to open the lid first and his response was "Ohhhhhh, I forgot, pee goes IN the potty, not ON the potty" Oh man, this kid drives me nuts sometimes but he is just too funny!!! lol

In other news, it is finally Fall here in western PA. The weather has been cool but comfy (in the mid 70s with a nice breeze) and I am officially counting down the days until the local haunted houses open for business. I love fall and especially Halloween! Nico's costume came in the mail the otherday and he is in love. He is going to be a pirate. One of his favorite books is "How I Became A Pirate" and the main pirate in the book is Braidbeard so he has been telling everyone that he is going to be Braidbeard for Halloween. Later, I will upload a few pics of him trying on the costume. His facial expression are priceless in some of them lol.

Anyway, I have been slacking on the blogging lately (though i think I am the only one really reading my blog anyway lol) but honestly, I keep forgetting that I have a blog lol. I will try to work on that lol.

Now that i have a blog I thought it was about damn time that i started participating in SSD's (http://www.sweetshoppedesigns.com/) "From Our Blog To Yours" thing. I always do the little quizzes and stuff that they post but i never have anywhere to put it lol. Well, now I do! This week the quiz had to do with who we were in HS.

Pictures Pictures pictures!!!

Two posts in one day... is that allowed? I don;t really know how this all works. Is it weird that I did a separate post for pictures? Should I have editted my lat post? perhaps I shouldn;t publish the entry until the end of the day when I am certain that i ahve crammed all of the days' thoughts into it. I dunno. Whatever, I do what I want!! And today, I want a separate post for pictures!

I take ALOT of pictures! Seriously, an ungodly (should the "G" be capitalized there? Hmm) amount of pictures. I am, however quite lazy and it tends to take a fair amount of time before i can be bothered to upload them or to edit them or put them somewhere (ie Photobucket) so then I tend to bombard people all at once. I make no apologies for that =0P

*This first one was taken a few weekends ago at the zoo. Nico and I went on a "date" If only I could find someone my own age (and not a blood relative) to date me, I'd be happy as a clam! But that is another post! lol I did have the best looking date at the zoo that day, if I do say so myself lol.

So this picture looked really good when i edited it on my laptop but now that i am on my desktop at work I am seeing alot of grain. I will prob try to re-edit it before I use it in a scrapbook layout or anything but beyond that its cute, he is cute and that's all that i really care about lol.


We spent the day at Idlewild on friday (more pictures to come). Nico picked ut the hat himself. He also thought that i should get him the plastic ax that he was carting around the store but i passed. I like my limbs intact, thank you, and I have a feeling that my cats would be the most likely target so they thank me as well.

Welcome to the World of Blogging

I resisted blogging for so long but I have finally caved. I'll admit that the whole idea of talking about myself and random people taking interest in me and coming to read about me was alluring lol but I insisted that I just didn't have the time for it (and in all honesty, I know I probably won't keep up with it). Then I realized that I spend far too much time on the internet to begin with. Like for instance right now I am at work. I should be, ummm, working. Nope, I am blogging. And If I weren't I'd be on BZ or somewhere else chatting with my friends instead of working. I am sure that I will end up writing another entry about how much I hate my job though, so i will spare you that for now. My point is, I decided that I might as well make use of that time and educate the world on a subject near and dear to my (and everyone else's) heart...ME!

Ok, ok so that all sounded really really arrogant, I am aware, but truly that is all a front. One thing that people quickly learn about me is that most of what I say is totally sarcastic and untrue (and all used to camoflauge my insecurities). No, I don't mean a lie, I mean a joke. I will never allow anyone to believe anything that i say, unless it is true. i will, however, make comments that makes you (in general) scratch your head and think "She can;t possibly be serious" lol. Its all a part of my charm (and trust me, I am quite charming hehe).

Furthermore, I will only apologize once for the fact that I am a horrible typist with bad grammar and numerous spelling errors (aren't you glad that i will someday be molding the youth of America as a public school teacher? Yep, this country is in great shape thanks to me =0) ). This is also part of my charm. So here is your apology (and warning of sorts)... it is higly likely that my writing will make you cringe, but if you can see past the imperfections you might get a kick out of me. if you can't, well, then I'm sorry =0)
